We already know that “Thor: Love and Thunder”, which just premiered in Brazilian cinemas, has two post-credits scenes. But what does Marvel reveal about them?
The highlight of the post-credits scenes is that they basically confirm that we will see more Thor than Chris Hemsworth in the future of the MCU. Now alongside the new adopted daughter lived by her real daughter, India Rose Hemsworth, “Thor will be back,” as the message goes at the end of the post-credits scenes.
However, before that, two scenes have been revealed that could point to the character’s future in the MCU. In the first, we see Russell Crowe’s Zeus not dead, but wounded and humiliated after being struck by his own weapon, the Lightning Bolt of Zeus, still stolen by Thor, the Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). ).) and Korg (Taika Waititi) in the group’s mission to defeat Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods (Christian Bale).
Thus, Zeus seeks revenge against the god of thunder, and while comforted by a group of women, he calls his greatest hero and powerful son, Hercules himself, to defeat Thor and avenge the name of the greatest Greek god.
The Hercules revealed in the scene wears golden and green robes and the demigod appears holding his traditional weapon, a staff, atop a pedestal. In the scene, Hercules is played by Brett Goldstein, from “Ted Lasso”.
The scene indicates that Thor’s next adventure will likely involve a famous comic book confrontation between the God of Thunder and Hercules, one of his most powerful enemies. The confrontation began in comics in 1965, in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s Journey into Mystery magazine.
On the other hand, the second post-credits scene focuses on the afterlife. In the film, we saw Jane Foster in a difficult fight against advanced cancer. Eventually, the character chooses to once again be the mighty Thor and help her lover defeat Gorr and save the children of Asgard, in a final act of heroism.
When Jane died in battle, she was taken to Valhalla, where she is warmly welcomed by Heimdall (Idris Elba), who thanks her for taking care of her young son Axl (Kieron L. Dyer). Marvel’s choice to show Jane Foster once again could mean this won’t be the definitive ending for the character.
It is possible that in the MCU Valhalla it is a possible place to visit and Thor may try to bring it back in the future. A resurrection of Mighty Thor would not be unprecedented, if comics were the reference. In Mighty Thor # 706, Thor and Odin have teamed up to bring the heroine back to life, as she has so much more to offer. It’s just a guess, but with the second post-credits scene, you can’t entirely rule out a return of the Mighty Thor in the future.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” is available in theaters.
