Diane Kruger + Donald Sutherland: What is the thriller mini-series Swimming with Sharks?

This Monday, April 15, Paris premieres on its channel Swimming With Sharks, a psychological thriller inspired by the 1994 film of the same name, which takes us behind the scenes in Hollywood, where insiders, dirty tricks and domination are the key words.

A confusing thriller

Swimming With Sharks is a six-episode 20-minute miniseries that follows Lou Sims as he begins his internship at Fountain Pictures. The latter appears as a naive young girl who arrives in Hollywood and is smitten by the famous studio executive Joyce Holt.

In fact, Lu did not get this internship by chance. As his obsession grows, he will do anything to get closer to his idol. Big ambitions are hidden behind the innocent facade of a young woman…

Is Joyce really an abusive boss or just a product of the Hollywood patriarchy? And is Lou really as innocent as she seems? Or is he a vicious and manipulative careerist willing to do whatever it takes to earn a place in Hollywood?

Five star actor

Created by Kathleen Robertson, an actress best known for her role as Claire Arnold in Beverly Hills, and directed by Tucker Gates, who notably worked on Bates Motel, Swimming with the Sharks is Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka, who play Joyce Holt and Lou Sims, respectively. .

The latter face is probably unfamiliar to you, as she made her debut on Mad Men before transforming into a Netflix witch in The New Adventures of Sabrina.

Alongside them, viewers will be able to find Donald Sutherland, who sadly passed away a few weeks ago at the age of 88. The Hunger Games actor lends his qualities here to Redmond, the studio’s big boss.

Starring Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why), Thomas Dekker (The Terminator, The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Finn Jones (Game of Thrones), Erica Alexander (Black Lightning) and Gerardo Selasco.
