Incredible, but true! If Brooke and Julian are one of the most famous couples of the Scott brothers, did you know that they almost never end up together? Well, yes! That’s what Sophia Bush revealed on a podcast called “Drama Queens,” which she co-hosts with Hilary Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz.
Commenting on episode 9 of season 6 of the TV show with Austin Nichols, he realized that they didn’t have the same information about their characters’ futures. Here’s what we told Julian’s character:
“He ends up falling in love with Brooke.”
“She’s from LA, she’s been in a relationship with Peyton, and we’re going to explore that in flashbacks. No one knows, it’s a secret, and she’s going to fall in love with Brooke!”
A very different version than the one given by series producer and creator Sophia Bush: “We had the same manager at the time. He told me that his other client lived in Wilmington, too. It was in Season 3 of the show, and at the time, I was going through a rough breakup, and I had. I decided I hated men.”
He continues: “And the lovely Austin showed up and asked me on our first date. So we’ve been friends for a long time and when he came to town I was shocked. I wondered what was going on. I’ve only dated three people in ten years and one of them shows up!
“I’ve been lied to, but I’m not unhappy”
Surprised by the actor’s arrival on the set, he went to ask for an explanation: “And our superiors told me: “Don’t worry! It’s going to be a great story between her and Peyton. You’re never going to be on camera.” That’s exactly what I was told, and yet our heroes got married, had two children, and I said to myself, “I’ve been cheated on, but I’m not unhappy.”
A strange behavior that allowed two exes to find each other again: “They played matchmaker in the weirdest way for us. Was it appropriate for our seniors to do that? No, but it was such a great season! I love that we had completely different versions of it (…)”
Suffice it to say, if the producers had listened to Sophia Bush, Brooke and Julian would never have become a couple. Amazing discoveries that will make fans of the series react!
