Bernardo Guedes Wins Title of Largest Ken Doll Collection According to Official World Record
Gaucho journalist Bernardo Guedes has been officially recognized as the world’s largest collector of Ken dolls. The title, awarded this month by the Official World Record (OWR), celebrates his impressive collection of 150 dolls of Barbie’s iconic boyfriend.
Bernardo registered with the OWR, which evaluated and catalogued his collection with the help of judge Tiago Cardoso, from Lisbon. After analysis and validation, Bernardo received an official certificate and his name was registered on the OWR website and in the book of world records. OWR, founded in Barcelona in the 21st century, is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the promotion and registration of world records.
“Now I am officially part of Barbie’s history. It’s a great responsibility. I am the first collector to receive the award for the largest Ken collection in the world. I am very happy with this achievement and I dream of one day visiting the Mattel factory to see up close how the toys are made,” said Bernardo.
Living in Novo Hamburgo, Vale do Sinos, Bernardo began his collection with his first Ken, a gift from his grandmother when he was a child.
