Before Deadpool & Wolverine came out, I told myself that a complete revamp of Logan’s character wouldn’t hurt. So I started by recreating his first appearances in the X-Men trilogy, directed by Bryan Singer and Brett Ratner. And one thing really surprised me: you don’t want to be Logan’s friend.
- The amazing story of how Hugh Jackman got the role!
Imagine being friends with Wolverine. The guy is clearly handsome despite his rough hair, wears a tank well, has amazing charisma, smokes huge cigars without coughing, is built, rides a motorcycle like a real biker, in short: he is the coolest guy on earth.
He can steal your girlfriend
Now imagine your name is Scott Summers. You are nicknamed Cyclops because you wear glasses with ruby quartz lenses that shield others from your gaze, which can deliver destructive optical blasts. Despite those permanent red glasses, you’ve managed to woo a young female doctor – let’s casually call her Jean Gray – and you’re in perfect love.
Then Wolverine arrives on his motorcycle, military medals around his neck, curly braces and a steely gaze, apologizing from his second encounter with your friend Jean, who he threatened to run away from earlier, and in the process tries one: “So… you like taking my shirt off, huh?” or later: “Go read my mind, are you afraid you’ll like it?”
And what’s more, he doesn’t give up!

When you feel a blow coming, you tell him clearly: “keep your distance”. The message is clear, but he will do anything to seduce her. Your other friends like Malicia, Tornado, and Bobby will start leaving you both alone for the good of your relationship. As if that wasn’t enough, Wolverine will constantly use your motorcycle to come and go, prompting you to refuel.

Jean and Scott
When you go to work, she’ll worry about you and let Wolverine know she loves you. In response, he replies: “Are you sure ?” And immediately kisses him.
After that, your relationship will be doomed. So thanks to whom? Not Logan, a crazy flirt and a big mean for Scott Summers, who really lost everything in the X-Men trilogy.
