Johnny Depp to star in French Netflix-licensed film

Johnny Deppknown for his iconic roles, returns to the screen after winning the libel trial against Amber Heard. information of Bloomberg say that the actor will be the protagonist of the feature film La Favoritewhich is being financed by the Netflix.

However, sources revealed to the Variety that the streaming company would not be financing the film, but rather licensing it to be broadcast in cinemas across France in 2023, before being released on the streaming platform. The film is not original Netflix.

Directed by Maiwenn Le Besco, La Favorite will present depp like the French King Louis XV. Maiwenn would also be in the cast of the film, playing Jeanne du Barrya countess who was the last mistress of Louis XV.
