Spider-Man’s origin has been retold so many times that it was safe for Marvel to assume fans wouldn’t need this story anymore, but would it be open to theories and interpretations?
The story of Spider-Man is not exactly new to the public – even for those who are less familiar with superhero movies. The young man, after losing his parents, went to live with his aunt and uncle, May and Ben, and the rest you already know – both for Tobey Maguire, Andrea Garfield or the most recent Tom Holland.
It’s understandable, then, that Peter Parker’s MCU debut chose not to show his origins. The MCU was able to dive right into Peter (Holland) and his struggles with being Spider-Man. Dynamics that would normally have to wait for a second film were able to be explored right from the start, making this version of Spider-Man feel like a truly great new thing.
