Russian Short Film Festival to start in Sochi in September

______________________________

Autumn in Sochi promises to be cinematic, and big cinema, as you know, begins with a short film. From September 23 to 25, the Emelya Fest film festival will provide new directors with the opportunity to show their work to the general public and help the winners make their first feature film.

The main idea of our festival is to increase interest in young Russian cinema, help increase the production of high-quality domestic films, and also create a new platform for the exchange of experience between debutants and masters of the Russian film industry. Within the framework of the festival, there will be not only a screening of films and awarding the winners, but also master classes in directing, acting, cinematography and screenwriting and script pitching, – says the founder of the festival, Svetlana Emelyanova.

It should be noted that among the members of the jury of the festival are leading professionals of the film business: directors, screenwriters, actors, producers and journalists. The program will include 20 films with a running time of up to 40 minutes, filmed from 2020 to 2022. 10 of them will be selected by the program directorate, and another 10 films will be selected by an open online audience voting. The main prize will be a contract with the film company “EMELYA PRODUCTION” for the production of a feature film.
