Many of today’s “House of the Dragon” fans were also regular viewers of “Game of Thrones,” so some may already know this fact. But for those who aren’t aware, it’s worth a heads up: the events of the current series are referenced in HBO’s original history of Westeros, including the outcome of the war.
Those who do not want to receive spoilers (which we will discuss later), in addition to having to stop reading this article, should avoid the fourth episode of the third season of Game of Thrones.
The big spoiler comes from one of the most hated characters in the series: Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson). In the episode “And Now His Watch Is Down,” he shows Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) the Great Sept, the religious temple in King’s Landing.
Game of Thrones has already revealed Rhaenyra’s fate
The Game of Thrones scene not only reveals Rhaenyra’s end, but proves that Aegon and Sunfyre will not die from wounds received at the Battle of Rook’s Rest, as the show is leading audiences to believe.
As brief as Joffrey’s version of events is, it’s a shock to learn what will happen to one of House of the Dragon’s protagonists while the series is far from complete, without first knowing how the story goes.
The shocking death of the protagonist is destined to happen at the end of the series. And thanks to Joffrey, it will not be a surprise even for those who have not read the book but remember the scene from Game of Thrones.
