One of the most celebrated sporting events in the world, the 2024 Summer Olympics officially began last Friday (26), in Paris, France, bringing together different nationalities in multiple sports.

The Olympics celebrate the competitive spirit and overcoming of athletes who are often pushed to the limit in search of the coveted gold medal; and, to celebrate, the Rolling Stone Brazilthe CineBuzz and the With you! prepared a list of films about sports.

NYAD (2023)

The UFC is a martial arts organization that gained fame in Brazil with fighters such as Anderson Silva, Victor Belfort and Jose Aldo. The latter won a film about his life story starring Jose Loreto. Many of the martial arts featured in the UFC are represented at the Olympics, such as boxing and wrestling.

SYNOPSIS:The story of the first UFC featherweight champion. José Aldo (Loreto), a young man from a poor family, marked by domestic violence, leaves Amazonas and goes to Rio de Janeiro in search of a chance as an athlete.

We Are Marshall (2006)

Overcoming is one of the most used words when we talk about the Olympics. We are Marshall goes beyond overcoming, showing that unity is strength and that no one reaches the top alone.

SYNOPSIS:In 1970, Marshall University and the small town of Huntington, Virginia, collide when 75 of the school’s football players and staff die in a plane crash.
