Defender Ruan Tressoldi joins from an Italian second division club and has a fixed-term contract until June 2025 at the Sao Paulo club
Sao Paulo announced on Monday (19) the arrival of defender Ruan Tressoldi on loan from Italian club Sassuolo. The contract stipulates that the defender will remain in Brazil until June 2025.
Coming from a squad currently lacking in defense, the Brazilian athlete Ruan Tressoldi trains in the youth team of Grêmio, where he plays until 2021, before being sold to the Italian club at just 22 years old. In the Italian top flight, the defender has already played 63 games during his 3 seasons in the European club. In a group with Arboleda, Alan Franco, Ferraresi, Sabino and Matheus Belém, Ruan will be selected as the sixth defender of São Paulo.
The defender will be eliminated from the Libertadores round of 16 this Thursday, where the Brazilian club will face Nacional-UR at home against MorumBIS in the return leg. The reason for the failure to register for the match is that the deadline for the registration of athletes has already expired, who will be able to take to the field with the tricolor jersey only from August 25 against Vitória in the Brasileirão.
In an interview with the San Paolo website, the player expressed his sympathy for the Tricolore fans and expressed his happiness at being back in his hometown:
-“I am very happy to be here, back in my country, close to my family, the people I love and in this gigantic club. I think we have everything we need to achieve great things this year.”
