Despite the announcement of the already iconic Web Weaver, there was a Spider-Woman who had to rediscover herself as a woman and has a predilection for redheads.
This week, and while we wait for the arrival of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ in theaters, we have met the good guy Web-Weaverthe climb that will arrive in the Marvel comics collection ‘Edge of the Spider-Verse’ in September 2022 and that has been presented as the first gay Spider-Man, but is this correct?

“From the beginning, I looked a lot to McQueen and Mugler for inspiration,” says Kris Anka, his designer, along with the first published sketches of the character. “I chose a wide web in the original designs while also looking at the unique new spiders that Steve Fox recommended, eventually combining into this look.”
The tears among the most delicate of the delicate, still sore from the harsh lessons of Pixar, did not wait, especially among those who have not had a comic in their hands in their lives. But let’s leave these offended little ones aside, because what we are here for is not to accommodate them but to remember that Web-Weaver is not even the first web launcher belonging to the LGTBIQ+ community.
“I’m a broken thing that they made of Peter Parker. And that’s what we have in common,” explains the Jessica Drew of Earth 1610, where the Ultimates universe takes place. “I’m not Peter Parker. I’m… this.”
This Jessica Drew, identity of Spider-Woman, is a clone of created by Otto Octavius that keeps all of Parker’s memories, which caused quite a few problems when reconciling it with their gender identity. “I’m not Peter Parker. I’m not even a boy. I’m Jessica Drew,” he sentenced.
As if this transition of memories was not enough, when this Spider-Woman is asked about her tastes, she does not hesitate: “girls”, she answers. “Natural redheads in particular. And I have a thing for Jewish girls too“.
We don’t know if the character will end up making it to the movies and making our list of the best lesbian movies or our ranking of Marvel movies.
