Foxx plays Bud Jablonski here, a man who uses the pool cleaning job cover for his real income: hunting vampires. But when a series of annoying murders lead him out of the International Union of Vampire Hunters, Bud must return, lest he lose his main source of income and see his wife and daughter move to Florida.
The real stake (pun quite intentional) is the continued survival of the human race, because in this world full of vampires, murderous, bloodthirsty creatures are everywhere … and must be stopped.
This comes from a group that he worked at john wick movie (a fact the trailer is happy to promote). Director JJ Perry served as stuntman / stunt coordinator and second unit director on several of them, while co-writer Shay Hatten worked on the most recent.
