Brazil did really well at the premiere of Paralympics Paris 2024! This Thursday (29), on the first day of competition, the team took home not one, but three medals! The precious trio was achieved by three different athletes from swimming, the second sport with the most medals in Brazil in the history of the Paralympic Games – behind only athletics. Iconic!

Brazil wins three medals on first day of Paralympics

Just like the Olympicswe are already making history on the first day of Paralympic Games. With 12 athletes competing in the pool of the Arena Paris La Défense, the Brazilian delegation had 7 finalists and secured a medal each: gold, silver and bronze. You have to respect that, you see!? Favorite in the test, Gabriel Araújo it started taking first place in the 100 backstroke – S2, being his fourth Paralympic medal – third gold -. So, world record holder in Paralympic sport, Gabriel Banderacame in third in the 100m butterfly – S14. Finally, Philip Rodrigues secured silver in the 50m freestyle – S10, his ninth Paralympic medal in his career! Legendary!
