The list of killer animals in cinema is very, very long! From sharks to snakes, sheep, birds, spiders, crocodiles and lions, the big screen is inspired by the many creatures that inhabit our good old blue planet.

Watch out, naughty kangaroo!

One animal was missing from the list, kangaroo! This iconic Australian beast is the largest marsupial in the world. The latter is at the center of a feature film called Rippy, in which a zombie is a kangaroo!

As seen in the trailer released on August 28, Rip’s story features a group of people trying to track down a killer kangaroo infected with some kind of virus. The director of the horror film is the Australian film director Ryan Coonan. It is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States and on video-on-demand services from October 18, 2024.

Ryan Quan co-wrote the screenplay with his partner Richard Barcaricchio. The story is based on their short film Waterbone, originally produced in 2014; The latter was a great success at festivals.

Iconic actor

Rip is played by Michael Biehn, the iconic actor from James Cameron’s first films. We could see him in The Terminator, Aliens or The Abyss. The official synopsis of the film is as follows:

Maddie (Tess Haubrich) is a young sheriff obsessed with living up to her late father’s legacy. When the townspeople are found ripped apart by an unknown creature, Maddy works with her Uncle Schmitt (Michael Biehn) and Aunt Donna (Angie Milliken) to track down the undead monster before it wreaks havoc. We don’t know yet if Rip will arrive in French cinemas.
