Warning, spoilers! The following article reveals important information about the ending of “Stranger Things” season 4.
Hawkins’ tight-knit group of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and her friends are a big part of Stranger Things’ success. However, Season 4 risks separating characters throughout the plot, from Russia to California. We’ll have to wait until the ninth and final episode to see the gang finally reunite.
Already in the works, Season 5 will take a reverse course and return to where it all began. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed that the finale will take place entirely in Hawkins, with an upside-down scene, of course.
“Season 4 was interesting for us because everyone was scatteredMatt Duffer explains Toward the Media Collider. This is what makes this season unique. Now that they’re back together, we’ll be exploring some of the dynamics from Season 1 again, but on a larger scale..”
At the end of Season 4, the town of Hawkins was turned upside down.
Now the upside is starting to take over the real world and the town of Hawkins is burning. The latest news is that Season 5 is supposed to start with a time jump — tracking the physical evolution of the cast, who have already grown quite a bit — but ending Season 4 anytime soon makes it difficult. Whether they will stick around to make a decision remains to be seen.
The Duffer Brothers are expected to begin writing season 5 in the first week of August. The series is not expected to return until 2024.
