As of Tuesday evening, August 27, The Count of Monte Cristo had 7,333,505 viewers in France. Which makes it one of the summer’s biggest hits, along with Vice Versa 2 (also with Pierre Nini doubling as Fear in VF), Despicable Me 4, Deadpool & Wolverine or even the indestructible little something extra whose crazy career started . May 1.

But it’s not just France that appeals to this adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ novel by Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellier. As Pier Nini pointed out on Twitter, The Count of Monte Cristo gets 100% positive reviews on the American site. Rotten tomatoeswhich serves as a reference and barometer across the Atlantic Ocean.

That doesn’t mean it has a maximum rating of 5 out of 5 every time, but every review has a 3 or more. While its US release date is not yet known, here are some positive reviews.

A captivating new version of the timeless tale
