A Better Life Preview: What’s in store for Wednesday 4 September 2024 Episode 162 [SPOILERS]

Patrick gets a promotion

Arriving at the police station, Patrick is cheered by his colleagues. And for good reason, they just found out that it was he who got the position of the new commissioner. They ask him to give a speech.

Patrick speaks up and tells them it’s an honor to be in charge of the police department. He does not fail to mention the recent events involving Meiline Liao (played by Moon Dailly) and states: “We’re coming out of a tough time and if you need to talk, I’m here.”

During the day, Jean-Paul informs Patrick that they have found Rovic, the escaped man. Patrick gets up from his chair, puts on his bulletproof vest and is ready to take the field. But Jean-Paul and Ariane remind him that he is now the commissioner.

A few hours later, Jean-Paul and Ariane returned. They inform Patrick that they have indeed arrested Rovic. Patrick wants to know all the details of the arrest, but the investigators reply that they need to take a lunch break first.

Patrick wants to eat with them, but he has a video conference meeting with the prefect. Jean-Paul and Ariane make fun of him for having a big head. Will Patrick adjust to his new position?

Nisma makes an important decision

At the Masalia residence, Apollyne goes to Nisma’s room. The latter informs him that he took the first abortion pill yesterday morning and was waiting for the second one. He is afraid of the pain, but Apolline replies that she will stay with him as long as it takes.

Apolline asks Nisma if she wants him to warn Steve, but she refuses to let him be there: “We are not on the same wavelength regarding my decision”. Apollinaire insists and tries to find out why Steve is so dismissive.

Nisma tells him the truth: Steve wants to start a family, but it’s a source of anxiety for him. She thinks it’s because she lost a lot of people she loved: “Now, I’m always mad at Barbara and Yael, I’m always afraid something will happen to them.”.

A few minutes later, Apolline goes to the pharmacy to buy some painkillers for Nisma. When he returns, he finds Steve waiting in the living room of the residence. He asks if she has any news from Nisma, but she says no.

Steve notices her holding a drugstore bag and says, “He didn’t do it without me?” The young woman replies that Nisma does not want to be disturbed and that it would be better to leave the matter alone.

Apollin promises to let her know as soon as it’s over. Steve asks Apollinaire: “Can you tell her I love you?” Will the couple reconcile then?

Four Mistraliens are in danger

For her part, Barbara meets Blanche and Luna for a trip to the Luberon, an hour and a half drive from Marseille. Two colleagues at the Pavillon des Fleurs eagerly await Chef Marie Duroc.

Suddenly, Jennifer (played by Diane Dassin) arrives. He tells them the good news: he managed to call the day and therefore can take part in this trip. At the same time, a car follows them. Inside is Yanis, Maya’s abusive husband.

Arriving at the star chef’s restaurant, four friends sit down at a table. Marie greets them with a glass of champagne. Mistralians are amazed by the journey of this very inspiring woman.

After a few drinks, Jennifer confides in her friends that she would love to share this moment with them, and then they decide to toast their friendship. Blanche adds that it’s time to go, and they thank Marie again for this exotic day.

When they are just back on the road, Jennifer, Barbara, Blanche and Luna discover a diversion sign. They are surprised because he was not there when they arrived. They decide to check the route on their phone, but they have no network.

So they decide to take a detour, but after a few meters they come to a dead end. Suddenly they saw a car behind them. Blanche goes out to talk to the driver and discovers the unthinkable: it’s Yannis.

The latter punches her hard in the stomach and Blanche falls to the ground. Yannis grabs a metal bar, but the three friends manage to defend themselves and hit this violent man in the head.

They rush into the car, but the man shoots through the windshield. Sitting behind the wheel, Barbara steps on the accelerator. He hits Yanis on the head. is he alive
