‘The Princess Diaries’ cast 21 years on: Julie Andrews wants a third part

At the 2022 Met Gala, Sydney Sweeney recreated one of the scenes from ‘The Princess Diaries’. That speaks to the importance of the Disney film just over two decades after it hit theaters.

Julie Andrews, the actress who played Queen Genovia in the franchise’s two films, has spoken about the possibility of being involved in a third installment.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” on June 9, 2022 on the occasion of her AFI Life Achievement Award, the 86-year-old actress admitted that she would be willing to return to the role of Clarisse Renaldi, but has her doubts about it.

“I don’t know, I’m probably still okay with it (‘The Princess Diaries 3’), but it might be a very old grandmother, I don’t know. It depends on what the story is, and if you think of something, that would be great.”

After the success of The Princess Diaries movies, Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway and the rest of the cast went their separate ways. Find out what they’ve been up to and how they see themselves 21 years after the first film premiered.
