Demi Moore reveals she lost 20 pounds while filming ‘The Substance’

The actress suffered health problems while filming the feature film directed by Coralie Fargeat and co-starring Margaret Qualley

Demi Moore revealed behind-the-scenes details of The Substancea film in which he stars alongside Margaret Qualley. In an interview with Los Angeles Times (via People), she revealed that she contracted shingles when she took a break from filming the feature film directed by Coralie Fargeat.

“To give you an idea of ​​the intensity, in my first week off, when I only Margaret I was working, I got shingles,” he said. “Afterwards, I lost about twenty pounds.”

Qualley also faced her own issues during filming, having to deal with “a lot of acne” for a “long period of time.”

The film’s director confessed that her intention was to highlight the difficulties of dealing with the body and the
changes that affect you:

I read a headline on an article about the film that said, ‘Being a woman is body horror.’ The film can be scary on many levels, but the first has to do with the violence of what we do to our own bodies.

About ‘The Substance’
