This is the page that turns!
Since its launch on France 2 on August 27, 2018, the series Un si grand soleil is changing channels and moving to France 3.
From this Monday, 9 September 2024, Channel Three will broadcast a new episode of the Montpellier soap opera every weeknight at 8.40pm.
But the other little new feature this fall is that viewers will be treated to not one, but two episodes of Un si grand soleil every night. Indeed, France 3 will offer a rebroadcast of the previous day’s program from 20:20.
Why was Un si grand soleil moved to France 3?
This channel change, which may legitimately surprise fans of the series, was decided by the management of France Télévisions in order to avoid the frequent deprogramming that has caused delays in broadcasting in recent years.
Series producer Thomas de Matteis elaborated in the columns 7 days TV“We’re debating for a while because the news has been so strong in recent months, let alone recent years, and the series should, quite legitimately, give way to the latter. The France Télévisions teams use the newspaper and the Post-News to continue their information work with the public“.
He goes on to explain that France 3’s timeslot is now better suited to offer series continuity while allowing France 2 to continue to focus on news in the event of an important event.
“I think that the basis is the channel (France 3, editor’s note) on which there is fiction that we will find every day and, at the same time, it will be necessary to air time information as clearly as possible“.
In front of this change, Thomas de Matisse is optimistic, especially since he considers it so.The best choice is to continue offering Un si grand soleil daily, with increased regularity, while ensuring the public service mission of France Télévisions.“.
historical time period
The choice of France 3’s time slot is not trivial, as it has already enjoyed great success in the past with Plus belle la vie.
A confident Thomas de Matisse, who himself produced the series, adds:This is a box that actually already has a history and I know it well because I was one of the producers of PBLV for a long time. I don’t know if it calms me down or not, but at least it doesn’t bother me (laughs). The community can follow us, as it did for Alex Hugo. It’s a bet that doesn’t seem so bold..”
Ultimately, the most important thing for a producer is to maintain a strong connection between the series and its audience. “We are very excited to continue making the series for them“He concludes and assures the fans”That there will still be twists and new adventures for the heroes of the series! This channel change is just an incident!“
See you at 20:20 on France 3 on Un si grand soleil!
