France wins, Italy remains unbeaten, Haaland decides and scores a hat-trick; check out the Nations League round

The second round of the competition took place on Monday

The second round of the Nations League (9) continued on Monday. The highlight of the competition took place in Group A2, with France putting in a strong performance to beat Belgium 2-0, Kolo Muani opening the scoring in the first half and Dembelé doubling the score in the final phase. Mbappé started from the bench and came on during the match.

In the other match of the group, Italy suffered, but by beating Israel 2-1, Frattesi gave the Azzurri the lead in the early stages, and Kean increased it in the second half. In the final minutes, the Israelis slowed down with Abu Fani and tried to apply pressure, but Italy knew how to defend themselves to ensure 100% success in the competition. However, the matches of the lower divisions also had highlights of the day.

Ødegaard is injured, Haaland decides and Norway can breathe

Norway reached the last 16 of the competition needing a win after a draw with Kazakhstan in the first round of Group B3 of League B. Playing at home, at the Ullevall Stadium, the Norwegians defeated Austria in an intense and hard-fought match.

Myhre opened the scoring for the Nordics, but Sabitzer equalised for the Austrians in the first half. In the closing stages, the Norwegians lost Ødegaard, their captain, to injury. In the final stages, however, Haaland decided with a goal in a millimetric move.

The two triplets

In the same group as Norway, league leaders Slovenia secured an important 3-0 win over Kazakhstan. The name of the game was RB Leipzig star Benjamin Šeško, who scored all the goals in the Slovenian victory.

Still in League B, but in Group G4, Turkey prevailed at home, dominating and beating Iceland 3-1. The highlight was winger Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who scored all three goals for the Turks in the match. The player was recently sold to Benfica in the final days of the Turkish transfer window.
