The creator of the series Good Omens and Sandman has been accused of sexual violence by several women

It was a real earthquake in the world of fantasy literature, although the case was not widely publicized. In recent weeks, world-famous writer Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault by five women. Our British colleagues from Kus Media An issue of their podcast is dedicated to this cause.

On condition of anonymity, one of the five women revealed that the alleged incidents occurred during the author’s promotional tour across the United States.

The latter is also accused of touching his daughter’s nanny, facts he acknowledges but disputes the abusive nature of, or of non-consensual sexual abuse of a young woman who had just reached adulthood when they met.

Produced by Tortoise Media, the podcast also offers an audio recording that goes over Neil Gaiman. Contacted by one of his alleged victims, the latter appears to admit the facts and especially confesses “spoiled”.

During the same conversation, the writer offered the young woman a financial settlement that would cover her therapy costs and fund a rape victims’ support association.

Our colleagues from Ku say that the association referred to in the note has never received the slightest donation from Neil Gaiman, and the latter has since completely denied all allegations against him.

Nevertheless, the case took a rather significant turn for the adaptation of his novel The Strange Life of Nobody Owens Suspended by Disney+. Filming for the third season of Good Omens has also been postponed indefinitely by Prime Video.

We also imagine that these allegations will affect the production of Season 2 of his Netflix series, Sandman.
