After the success of “Creed III”, the actor faces a new project as director and star in a modern adaptation of the 1968 classic
Michael B. Jordan has been confirmed to direct and star in the remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair” for Amazon MGM Studios. The project marks Jordan’s second feature film, following the success of “Creed III,” which grossed $276.1 million worldwide.
Successful Production and Partnership
In addition to starring and directing, Jordan will also produce the film through his company Outlier Society. The project strengthens Jordan’s partnership with the studio, with whom he previously collaborated on “Without Remorse” (2021) and “Creed III” (2023). The remake will be released exclusively in theaters, before streaming on Prime Video.
Franchising History
The original 1968 film, directed by Norman Jewison, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. McQueen played a wealthy businessman who was secretly a bank robber, while Dunaway played an insurance investigator who became involved in an affair with him. In 1999, Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo starred in an equally successful remake.
Creative team
The screenplay for this new version was written by Drew Pearce, author of “The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019) and “The Stuntman” (2023). There are no plans for the premiere yet.
