4 films presented in Cannes
With over 8 million admissions, The Count of Monte Cristo is one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters. Emilia Perez, on the other hand, was honored at Cannes: the Jury Prize and the Best Actress Prize went to Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz and Carla Sofia Gascon. Also featured in this festival: All We Imagine As Light, a soft, gentle and bright Franco-Indian co-production that was crowned with the Grand Prize. Finally, the thriller Miséricorde is up for grabs and hits theaters on October 16.
On Tuesday, December 17, the Oscar Academy will announce the preliminary list of 15 feature films selected in the category of best foreign language film. On Friday, January 17, 2025, 5 nominees will be announced. The Oscar ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
