After winning another medal at the Olympic Games, with Augusto Akio’s bronze at Paris-2024, the Brazilian Park is back in action. Between this Sunday (15) and Monday (23) of next week, twelve Brazilians will compete in the World Skateboarding Championship in Rome, Italy.
Brazil will have in competition the six names present at the Paris 2024 Games, including medalists Augusto Akio and Pedro Barros (silver in Tokyo 2020). In addition, the list of skaters present in France also includes Luigi Cini, Dora Varella, Isadora Pacheco and Raicca Ventura. Also confirmed are Pedro Quintas and Yndiara Asp, who represented in Tokyo 2020. Finally, Pedro Carvalho, Fernanda Tonissi, Sofia Godoy and Helena Laurino (Junior National Team) are four other names who will be in Italy.
In Rome (ITA), the Brazilian skaters will have the support of Bernardo Villano (selection manager), Fernando Granja (selection coordinator), Edgard Pereira Vovô and Miguel Miguel Zaffari Catarina (technical consultant for the park selection). In addition to Alison Paz (physiotherapist), Julio Detefon (technical coordinator), Milena Anuska (technical consultant) and Elisa Condé (technical consultant).
The World Championships sequence in September, in Italy, also included Vertical (03-08), Slalom (11-15), Street (07-15) and Downhill Speed and Street Luge (17-21).
Dispute Format
In the world skate park qualifiers in Rome, each skater will be able to perform two 45-second laps, the highest score will be valid. While in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final there will be three 45-second laps per skater, and the highest score will be valid.
