Daniel Dutra and Mateus Alves advance in Cali doubles

The last pair with Brazilians to play this Tuesday 17th at the Cali Challenger, in Colombia, was that of Daniel Dutra and Mateus Alves, in the eighth finals of the tournament. They beat the Frenchman Enzo Couacaud and the Argentine Renzo Olivo by 2 sets to 0, with partial scores of 6/3 and 6/4, in a match that lasted just over 1 hour.




The first set saw three breaks of play, two of the Brazilians and one of the opponents. Thus, in 28 minutes, Daniel and Mateus closed the set 6-3. In the second half, the Brazilians had more work to close the match. In the third game they managed to make another break, but they still had a lot of work to do, closing the match 6-4 in 34 minutes, managing the period well, but letting the opponents resist until the last point.

With the victory, the Brazilians advance to the quarter-finals and await the winners of the clash between Canadian Juan Carlos Aguilar and Peruvian Conner Huertas Del Pino and Argentines Andrea Collarini and Gonzalez Villanueva.

This Tuesday, in front of Daniel Dutra and Mateus Alves, José Pereira and Wilson Leite lost in their debut in the men’s singles tournament. But later, with Orlando Luz facing Luis Britto in the doubles, it was Orlando who prevailed, also advancing to the quarterfinals of the Cali Challenger.
