Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer for Mickey 17new film by Bong Joon Hodirector of the Oscar-winning Parasite (2019), which hits theaters in January 2025. The new film stars Robert Pattinsonof The Batman (2022).

What is the story of Mickey 17?

The film is based on Mickey7book of Edward Ashtonand is set in a future where crew members are chosen as “expendables” to carry out dangerous space colonization missions on behalf of everyone. When the chosen one dies in action, he is cloned and his copy assumes his responsibilities, continuing the service.

However, during one of these procedures, one of the “disposables” ends up surviving after being left behind. Considered dead by his fellow missionaries, he manages to return to the ship, but discovers that his successor is already alive, working and not at all interested in abandoning his post.

When does it premiere? Mickey 17?

Written and directed by Bong Joon Ho, Mickey 17 — which still has Steven Yeun (Minari: In Search of Happiness), Naomi Ackie (The End of the F***ing World), Toni Collette (Hereditary) and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Creatures) in the cast — premieres on January 31, 2025 in North American theaters.
