In the Champions League, Sparta beats Red Bull Salzburg

In Prague, the home team, despite having much less possession, showed efficiency and won 3-0 against their Austrian rivals.

Sparta defeated RB Salzburg in the duel of the underdogs of the Champions League. This Wednesday (18/9), at the Epet Arena in Prague, the Czech team defeated the Austrians 3-0 in the first round of the competition. The goals were scored by Kairinien and Olatunji, both in the first half, and Laçi, with a great goal in the final.

While RB had possession (74%), but failed to break the wall, Sparta was much more objective in attack. So much so that with just 25% possession they had eight shots, five on target, compared to six for a German rival who shot six times, but all far from the target. It is no coincidence that the Czechs went into half-time with a 2-0 lead. The goals came after recovering from bad passes from their rivals. The first came after just two minutes, with Kairinen completing a shot behind the goalkeeper. At 42, the second came. After recovering the ball in defense, Salzburg attempted a shot, but was blocked by Panak. But the defender’s forward shot, without much intention, found the Nigerian Olatunji free in the area. The striker took it first and scored the second goal.

Sparta continued with its goal. In this way it expanded. But with a sensational goal in the 12th minute. After all, Olatunji stole from Piatkowski, entered the area and threw the ball to Laçi. The striker, with a brilliant cut, left three on the ground and took the touch to score a great goal.
