This Thursday evening, TF1 is airing a new episode of HPI Season 4. A very special opus after Morgan (Audrey Fleurot) and Karadek (Mehdi Nebibu) give their cliques and slugs an investigation in Brittany, the region of origin of the DIPJ commander.
The unexplained disappearance of a young woman a few years ago forces them to the borders of Brittany. An investigation that leads Red Tornado to meet Karadek’s parents.
In fact, this issue was taken care of by the commander’s father, a retired gendarme. How will this reunion go? We will have to wait for HPI episode 6 to know the answer.
Was the episode actually filmed in Brittany?
If the plot of Season 4, Episode 6 leads us to believe that the HPI film crew set up the cameras in Brittany, that’s not the case. In fact, this unique piece was filmed in the Cotentin town of Barfleur. This Norman village is also classified among the “most beautiful villages in France”.
The Barfleur SNSM station was transformed into a Breton gendarmerie for the occasion. But while the footage wasn’t actually shot in Brittany, the conditions for filming the episode were similar to typical Breton weather, as Alice Chegaray-Brunot and Julien Anskater, the detective series’ directors, told us during an interview.
They had to weather a storm during filming, which can be seen in the finale of the episode, when Karadec and Morgane hit the road again after saying goodbye to the commander’s parents.
Karadec, a Breton at heart
From the founding of the HPI, writers have established that Karadec was Breton. The season 3 finale also gave us a chance to learn more about this character and why he ran away from his home region.
He was actually consumed by guilt after his brother’s accident left him a paraplegic. Returning to Brittany would allow him to connect with his parents, but he was turned away after this traumatic event.
Catch HPI Season 4 Episode 6 this Thursday, September 19 at 9:10pm on TF1. Previous episodes are already available on the TF1+ platform.
