On the advice of his agent, James McAvoy dropped out of the race to play Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter saga, despite the significant amount of money he could pocket. Appearing on the latest episode of Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast (Entertainment Weekly), the actor explained that staying in the race for the entire 7 months didn’t work for him, hence the decision.
“I almost played Harry Potterr,” McEvoy shared. “I remember it was early in my career. I passed the audit and I think they wanted to sign my contract. I had almost no work and they wanted me and I think 10 other actors to sign a contract to keep us and transfer us later.“
