Spanish newspaper compares Endrick to Roberto Carlos

The young striker stands out for his powerful shots and receives praise at the beginning of his career at Real Madrid

Endrick, former Palmeiras player, is starting to earn his place at Real Madrid. At 18 years old, the striker has already scored two goals, both with powerful low shots, and also conceded a penalty in the match against Espanyol, last Saturday (21), in which the opponent had to hold him for a few seconds to be able to bring him down. Thus, the Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’ has released images of the Brazilian’s final training session and has highlighted that his physical strength resembles that of Roberto Carlos, former full-back for the club and the Brazilian national team.

“Endrick is a player with an impressive physique. The power of his legs surprises the club every time he takes one of his shots. Despite being only 18 years old, he has the strength of a more experienced athlete. His build is very reminiscent of Roberto Carlos, especially the strength of his quadriceps and the way he shoots on goal,” the newspaper wrote, also quoting comments from sources within Real Madrid.

“Nobody understands how he can shoot so hard. When he lets go of his foot it’s scary,” club sources told newspaper ‘Marca’.

Endrick has played 26 minutes for Real Madrid (not counting stoppage time) and has been a substitute in every game he has been involved in. He was an unused substitute in the first two games, but has come on as a late substitute in the next six. He has already scored two goals: one in the 3-0 win over Valladolid, on his competitive debut, and another in the 3-1 win over Stuttgart, in his first Champions League appearance.

Despite limited playing time, Endrick received praise from manager Carlo Ancelotti and appeared in the final six games of the season.
