It’s Leaving Netflix Soon: The story of these birth-separated triplets is as incredible as it is true

It’s the kind of story you could make up, and yet it’s true. These are three brothers – triplets – separated at birth. Unbeknownst to them, they were taking part in a controversial scientific experiment aimed at proving what is innate or acquired in twins.

Their names are Edward Galland, David Kelman and Robert Shafran, and life will allow them to meet again, in the most unusual way possible.

This incredible story is told in the documentary Three Identical Strangers, which will be available on Netflix until September 30. Published in 2018, this investigation is quite a classic of the genre as it uses archival images as well as interviews with the triplets and their families.

They tell how they found themselves at the age of 19, what they discovered about their past and how they experienced this unexpected fame.

It is about their journey that we will tell you about in this episode of our podcast “This is a true story”, we return in more detail to a scientific experiment conducted by psychoanalyst Peter B. by Neubauer in the 1960s.

The story of Edouard, David and Robert, relatively unknown in France, was the inspiration for the authors of the TV series Triada, released in February 2023. The latter follows three women who look exactly alike as they try to solve the mystery of their separation.

Also watch on Netflix.
