Being an actor is not always easy, and Cote de Pablo knows something about that! If the young woman played Ziva on NCIS for eight seasons, she’s had a tougher time than most, as she explained in a podcast she co-hosts with Michael Weatherly.
Indeed, the one who gave Tony DiNozzo his features was back in the first weeks of the actor’s shooting: “I want to tell you a story about the first days of shooting Cote de Pablo, we had two sets and we were shooting two episodes at the same time.
He continues confidently: “He’s finishing a scene, and it was a long scene, and he’s finishing it with different camera angles… That’s the most stressful part! Suddenly another assistant director appears with a pink sheet and says,
‘Kott, once you finish your cover plans, they’ll be waiting for you on set D.’ And he goes, “What do we do?” They tell him, “We’re doing a four-page autopsy scene with Ducky. He is waiting for you. They are ready, just change your top. You keep the same pants because we have to go soon”
“It took me two hours to learn my lines”
But the young woman did not know that she would have to film this scene that day. He then speaks to reveal that he felt very bad not knowing his lyrics: “I come from a theater background and it took me at least two hours to learn my lines.”
“I cried and cried again”
However, this is not how it works on television: “I went home and cried and cried. I felt like crap!” Fortunately, the headmaster came to calm him down and gave him an unstoppable solution to avoid this situation.
Things continued to improve for the star NCIS. It’s enough to comfort all the apprentice actors who also face many difficulties at the beginning of their career.
