The Crow: All the Movies, from Worst to Best, According to Critics

The cult supernatural superhero comic book series “The Crow” is the creation of James O’Barr. The work was originally published by Calibre Comics in 1989.

However, “The Crow” became much more popular with its 1994 film adaptation. Since then, the comic has expanded into a multimedia franchise that includes five films, a TV series, and a video game.

However, do film adaptations of “The Crow” receive the same respect as the source material?

With this in mind, we decided to list, from worst to best, all the films in the series “The Crow”. As a criterion, we took into account the ratings provided by review aggregators and specialized film sites.

In the plot, Jimmy (Furlong) and his girlfriend are murdered by a satanic group. Seeking revenge, Jimmy returns as The Crow.

The second film in the series, “The Crow: City of Angels” functions as a standalone sequel to the 1994 original.

In the plot, after witnessing a murder, Ashe Corven (Vincent Pérez) and her son are killed by a gang. However, a crow brings Ashe back to life to take revenge. The cast also includes Mia Kirshner and Iggy Pop.

However, critical reception for “The Crow: The City of Angels” has been largely negative.

The third film based on the comic book series “The Crow,” “Salvation” stars Eric Mabius as the titular hero and Kirsten Dunst joins the cast.

In the plot, Alex (Mabius), wrongly accused of the murder of his girlfriend, is executed by electric chair. However, a crow resurrects him and gives him the powers to take revenge.

In terms of critical reception, “The Crow III: Salvation” was mostly panned by the specialized media.

A reboot of the franchise, “The Crow” is the second film to directly adapt the comic book series that spawned the franchise. Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs star in the film.

Like most films in the series, “The Crow” was poorly received by critics.

Inspired by the 1989 comic book series created by James O’Barr, “The Crow” is a film directed by Alex Proyas.

Brandon Lee, who died in an accident during filming, plays Eric Draven. He is a musician who is killed along with his girlfriend by a gang of criminals. A crow then resurrects him, granting him superpowers to seek revenge.

“The Crow” is the only film in the series to have received positive reviews from critics. The atmosphere and dark style, as well as Brandon Lee’s performance, were the most appreciated aspects by the media consensus.
