Wall Street opens slightly higher after US inflation data

Wall Street’s main indexes opened slightly higher on Friday, with the S&P 500 near an all-time high, after modest inflation data from the United States fueled expectations that the Federal Reserve may focus exclusively on the labor market and continue to reduce interest rates.

The Dow Jones gained 0.13% at the opening to 42,227.95 points.

The S&P 500 index opened up 0.17%, at 5,755.36 points, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.21%, to 18,228.778 points at the opening.
