Actor spoke about his physical preparation to play the superhero in James Gunn’s new film, which opens the new DC Cinematic Universe
David Corenswetprotagonist of Supermana feature film that will launch the new DC Cinematic Universe, weighed more than 100 kilos during preparation to star in the new film directed by james gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3).
“I wasn’t 107 pounds when we started filming. 107 was my maximum. I couldn’t fit into any of my pants.”declared in an interview with the podcast Manly Things (Sort Of) [via Variety].
“That was my biggest size. And then I slowly lost weight before we started filming. I started filming at about 103, 104 [quilos]…”continued. “I know I wanted this to be my excuse to see what it would be like to essentially gain as much weight as I could.”
What we already know about Superman?
Superman will accompany Superman/Clark Kent in the quest to reconcile Kryptonian heritage with human creation. The production will star David Corenswet (Pearl, Hollywood) as the protagonist and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as the reporter Lois Lanethe hero’s love interest.
In addition to Corenswet, Brosnahan and Gisondothe film also features Nicholas Hoult (The Great), Nathan Fillion (The Suicide Squad), Isabella Merced (Madame Teia), Edi Gathegi (Dusk), Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Maria Gabriela de Faría (Isa TKM), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and the model Sara Sampaio in the cast.
Supermanwhich is also written by james gunnis scheduled to arrive in Brazilian cinemas from July 10, 2025.
