Steven Spielberg Winner of two Academy Awards for Best Director (Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan), Steven Spielberg is one of those rare filmmakers who represents an entire stretch of art history in just the seventh.
Now 77, the father of Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET and Indiana Jones can proudly look back on an absolutely exceptional career. But what about the future? Even if Spielberg still has some stories to tell us (and especially a new sci-fi film), we can wonder if there is anyone in the current generation of cinematographers who can live up to his legacy.

“These are the kind of movies that excite me.”
At least that’s the question a Time reporter asked him in early September. The director then replied that he never looked at things that way:
“What I’m interested in is knowing which of them will have the courage to break conventions and tell stories in the language they’ve invented.”Spielberg explained before continuing, specifying that with those criteria in mind, there was indeed a filmmaker he had high hopes for.

And we manage to find a very original thought in each of his films. I think Jordan and directors like him really represent hope for the future.
Having already won the Oscar for Best Screenplay in 2018, the Get Out, Us and Nope director seems to have all the qualities required of a great director like Spielberg or Scorsese.
