Love stories often get complicated in Un si grand soleil, and of course Alex (Benjamin Bourgois) wouldn’t say otherwise.
After breaking up with Julie (Sophie Staub), the cop had little doubt that he would find love again during the investigation. Let us remind you that Alex was used as a bait for one of the suspects in the case of the 23rd killer, Celine.
If this story was based on lies, Celine did not know that the 23-year-old killer was obsessed with her and attacked men she frequented. Now that the truth is out, Céline can rethink her priorities during the next episodes of the France 3 daily soap opera.
Does this mean Alex and Celine’s story will continue?
During a visit to the Un si grand soleil studios in Vendarg last July, Benjamin Bourgois, Alexis’ translator, spoke to Allocine on the microphone about his character’s romantic future.
Alocine: Will the story between Celine and Alex continue?
Benjamin Bourgois : This is a story that will not last. Celine is not going to stand the idea that a man could kill her because of her. He does not want to be associated with the investigation of this story.
How will Alex react to this breakup? Will it break her heart?
quite ! It wasn’t as passionate a relationship as with Gael Lestrack or Julie, but he still felt that he was falling in love and it could be a beautiful story. It will be another disappointment for Alex.
Will this story have professional repercussions for Alex?
Even if he was very personally involved, it was thanks to Alex’s investigation and his solution that the police were able to find Cresson and arrest the killer. Alex is just going to hit his knees like he always does
Will this investigation bring Alex closer to Commissioner Becker?
No, it will always remain so between them (laughs). Becker (Yvonne Beck) loves him, but he annoys her for a number of reasons. And then Becker has this ability to use his nerves on targets like Levy. It’s much harder to do that with Leoni (Moses Santamaria), who is a very good element, or even Cross. There is a little game between them. Alex is her stress ball (laughs).
With the scenes you were shooting this morning, did we notice that you have some freedom of improvisation in acting?
As long as it’s consistent with what’s going on, our gaming partners, and what information we need to provide, we’re left to do it. After that I start to understand a little about Alex and the text embroidery. I like to convey it in a way that gives the ear a musicality. I try to find the funniest one.
That’s what I did this morning with Lila Guirod. Taisi’s character joins the police department, she is a little girl. So I tried to find little expressions like “A young Spartan“,”Padawan“or again”A little bird about to fly“These are the little jokes I make when I’m playing. The team will pick the one that makes them laugh and that will be the fairest.
I end up giving them multiple opportunities for the same text, but it’s always the same intent. Inside I’m trying to surprise my boyfriend. If it generates something behind it that makes you laugh or brings something extra, that’s my little joy.
And your partners immediately enter the game…
We know each other well and have a lot of fun. We are in favor of what is happening. It happens to us with Moses that we have little battles about who has the best answer. There is a little game between us. Moses is a very good improviser. Freedom is given to us because it ultimately works.
Was it all your improvisations that gave a bit of comedy to the police station or was that already in the writing of the series originally?
It’s a bit of a chicken or egg situation. That is, there are many things that the authors gave us as tests, we took them and changed them a little. We cannot say that we created everything, because we did not. First of all, we sometimes adapt to constraints, be it time or situation. We used those limitations to add comedy that was already more or less included. Whether it’s dialogue writers or us actors, we come across things that may or may not be true.
Do you have any other projects besides Un si grand soleil that you can talk about?
I’m filming Murder at Chartres, directed by Sandrine Cohen. I have a small role, but it is very pleasant. I think more and more about writing. I am also going to do things with my wife, with whom I work well. Eventually, I will probably direct because people are asking me.
