After the debut of Joker: Delirium for Twothe long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film starring Joaquin Phoenix (Napoleon) and Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born), Todd Phillips is officially putting an end to its relationship with the DC Cinematic Universe.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporterthe filmmaker, who had already ruled out the possibility of commanding a Joker 3also said no to a spin-off film about Harley Quinnplayed by Lady Gagaand stated that he should not return to the franchise.
“[Um filme sobre Arlequina] It’s not really where this movie is headed. [Coringa: Delírio a Dois] is heading. I feel like my time in the DC Universe was with these two films.”he declared.

In Joker: Delirium for Twowhich is a musical, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is admitted to Arkham Sanitarium while awaiting trial for his crimes such as Joker. As he struggles with his dual identity, Arthur ends up encountering true love, in the form of Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga), and finds the music that has always been inside him.
In addition to Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz also returns in the second film as Sophie Drummondthe villain’s romantic interest in the first film. Among the new features, Lady Gaga is the main addition, but it also gains the company of Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jacob Lofland (A Son), Catherine Keener (Run!), Ken Leung (Lost) and Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye).
