The Well 2the long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit, which shows the fight for survival in a vertical prison, premiered a few days ago on Netflix, but has already secured first place among the most watched films on the streaming platform in Brazil.
Furthermore, the novelty, which stars Milena Smit (Parallel Mothers) and Hovik Keuchkerian (La Casa de Papel), also helped boost the first film, which currently occupies fifth position in the ranking. Check it out:
What is the story of the film?
The Well takes place in a prison where inmates are fed by a platform, which descends through several levels. Those at the highest levels eat better and often more than they need, leaving only a few crumbs for the prisoners at the lower levels, which results in a riot.
In the new film, “after a mysterious leader sets the rules at the well, a new resident ends up getting involved in the fight against this controversial method of combating the violent food system. But when eating from the wrong dish is a death sentence, how far would you go to save your life?”says the synopsis. Watch the official trailer:
