Actress stars in the new film by Walter Salles (Central do Brasil), who was chosen to represent Brazil at the next edition of the Oscars
Fernanda Torresprotagonist of I’m Still Herenew feature film Walter Salles (Central Brazil), will be awarded at the Critics Choice Awards at the 4th Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television.
The news was announced on the awards’ social media this Wednesday, October 9th. Torres will receive the award for Best International Actress for I’m Still Herewho was chosen to represent Brazil at the next edition of the Oscars, scheduled for March 2025.
In addition to Fernanda Torresthe actresses Zoë Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) and Adriana Barraza (My Penguin Friend), and the filmmakers Fede Alvarez (Alien: Romulus), Pablo Larraín (Maria Callas) and Issa López (True Detective: Nightland), among others, are also among those honored. Check it out:

What is the story of I’m Still Here?
Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Hereis set in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1970s, amid the military dictatorship, and tells the story of Eunicemother of five children, who becomes involved in an endless search for the truth after her husband, Rubensbe taken away by undercover police officers and disappear.
