Disney+ Confirms End of Password Sharing in Brazil; see what changes

Subscribers who usually “lend” their Disney+ password to third parties will no longer be able to continue the practice anytime soon, at least not without paying more. In an email sent to customers, the service announced when it will begin tracking those who share accounts in Brazil.

Starting in November, Brazilian users will begin receiving notifications from the streaming service alerting them to the change.

It’s worth noting that at the end of September, Disney also stopped sharing passwords in several markets, including Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe and Asia. Now it’s Brazil’s turn.

The trend that started with Netflix is a way to cut the company’s losses with the streaming service. The company’s CEO, Bob Iger, previously said the new rule would take effect in October in some countries.
