Just days before the premiere of Anoraa feature film written and directed by Sean Bakerfrom Tangerine (2015), Florida Project (2017) and Red Rocket (2021), which was scheduled to hit Brazilian cinemas on October 31, Universal Pictures chose to postpone the release.

Now, the news, which won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, will hit theaters three months late, on January 23, 2025. In the United States, where the work is distributed by Neon, the premiere is still scheduled for October 18th.

What is the story of Anora?

Anora tells the story of Ani (Mikey Madison, Panic), a stripper in Las Vegas, who ends up falling madly in love with the son of a Russian oligarch. Yura Borisov (The Soviet Captain), Aleksey Serebryakov (Anonymous), Ivy Wolk (The Bubble), Lindsey Normington (The Idol) and Karren Karagulian (Red Rocket) are also in the cast.

In the competition for the main prize at the Cannes Festival, the film defeated productions such as Types of Kindnessfrom Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Creatures); Megalopolisfrom Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather); and Destination Motelfrom Karim AĂ¯nouz (The Invisible Life).
