Mr. Olympia 2024: Ramon Dino frustrates expectations and leaves the top 3; CBum retires after the title

The main name of Brazilian bodybuilding has had difficulties in its presentation; in 2022 and 2023 he placed second in the Classic Physique category

Brazil’s main name at the Mr. Olympia, the most important competition in the world bodybuilding world championship, Ramon Dino failed to reach the top 3 in the Classic Physique category. After two consecutive years of placing second in the sport, the Acrian had problems during his presentation and was excluded from the podium. Chris Bumstead, CBum, won his sixth consecutive title and announced his retirement from bodybuilding following the dispute.

In 2022 and 2023, Dino was the leading name in Brazilian bodybuilding at the Mr. Olympia. He was also the only one capable of threatening the CBum’s position during the period. This year, however, it had problems with the body paint in the previews. During the show, the product did not adhere to Dino’s body, causing her to slip during her movements on stage.

Therefore, to compete for Mr. Olympia in 2025, Dino will have to win a bodybuilding competition in the next year. Only the top three finishers will guarantee a place at the next edition of Mr. Olympia.

The Canadian champion CBum overcame Mike Sommerfield and Urs Kalecinski, both Germans, to keep the title under his control. After the competition in Las Vegas, he said he would no longer compete at the Mr. Olympia. β€œThe last dance,” she wrote on her Instagram. In recent years he has dealt with injuries. In addition, he has Berger’s disease, an autoimmune and incurable disease, which affects the filtration capacity of the kidneys.

In the 60th edition of Mr. Olympia, Brazil was the second country with the highest number of representatives competing: 49, 30 men and 19 women, who represented Brazil in this edition, in 10 of the 11 existing categories. The figure is record-breaking: never before have so many Brazilians participated in the competition. In 2023 there were 33 participants. The brand demonstrates how the country has increasingly consolidated itself as a protagonist of this sport.
