The mayor of São Paulo and candidate for re-election to the office, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) positively evaluated and criticized his participation in the first debate of the 2nd round Guilherme Boulos (PSOL). After the meeting promoted by the Band on the night of this Monday the 14th, the MDB candidate declared that the federal deputy is “unprepared for the town hall”.

“I had the opportunity to speak, to demonstrate my experience and knowledge. I didn’t imagine Boulos was so unprepared. Not knowing the contract, not knowing the rules, not knowing the legislation that talks about SUS”, he underlined.

In the interview with the press, Nunes stressed that the debate was better than the other 11 in the first round of the electoral race, but that there were still “aggressions” and “lies”.

“He used the tactic of trying to intimidate, but I was from Parque Santo Antônio, right guys? So it won’t be intimidating, no. […] I was very respectful, I made a point of arriving and saying hello, I made a point of going to say hello when I finished. […] This is democracy, you can think differently, but respect is fundamental,” he underlined.

Nunes hugs Boulos after the deputy mayor confronted the mayor in the debate: “You will not intimidate me”:

For Nunes, Boulos’ offensive stance is due to the fact that his opponent is “bad in the polls.” The current mayor once again blamed the federal government for Enel. “Licensing, regulation and inspection belong to the federal government. The federal government is responsible for monitoring Enel. And why does Enel make so many mistakes? Because it is not monitored,” he underlined.

Enel is the Italian energy distribution concessionaire that operates in São Paulo through a concession with the federal government. More than 340,000 people remained in the dark in the capital of São Paulo and in the metropolitan region after the storm on Friday the 11th.
