According to the Secretariat of Public Security of the State of São Paulo, a company supervisor went to the police station in the evening of the same day and stated that his team was pruning a tree, due to the heavy rains that hit the capital and the metropolitan region. “The victim was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Peru, where he could not resist and died,” the SSP reported.
In a note, the Enel expressed his deep regret for the death of the company’s electrician, which occurred during the restoration work on the distribution network. The company specifies that “it is in contact with the employee’s family to provide all the necessary support at this time”.
Enel said it was investigating the circumstances of the accident and reinforcing “its commitment to rigorous safety standards” in all of the company’s activities.
The case was registered as a suspicious death in the 33rd Police District of Pirituba and forwarded to the 46th DP (Peru), where the events occurred.
