Spotify music videos will reach more countries and subscribers

Spotify is launch of beta testing of music videos in 85 other markets globally, allowing Premium subscribers to watch a “limited catalog” of videos.

At the moment, the music video catalog contains artists such as Charlie XCX, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Fontaines DC, LISA and others.

Curiously, the list of available areas does not yet include the USA, which is generally a country to be considered before the rest of the world due to its various technological innovations.

Spotify first launched its music video feature in March, but only in the UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia and Kenya, with Egypt added later.

“As with all of our features, availability may vary across markets and tiers,” Spotify spokesperson Brittany Le Roy said in a statement to The Verge.

“Music videos on Spotify remain in beta, and we look forward to offering them to even more users in more markets, including the US, in the future,” Brittany added.

Tracks that have a video version will be indicated in the application

The list is growing to 97 markets as the feature “is starting to roll out in new markets with a limited catalog of music videos – and will continue to roll out in the coming weeks.”

Countries like Australia, Greece, Mexico, Argentina and Portugal are among those that will have music videos from now on.

Premium subscribers in supported regions can check if music videos are active in their location by opening and looking for the “Switch to Video” button on supported songs.
