Last month we learned that British actor Charlie Hunnam has landed the lead role of notorious serial killer Ed Gein in the third season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Monster on Netflix.
Born in Wisconsin, Ed Gein became infamous in 1957 after the authorities discovered that he had not only killed several people, but also made corpses and their remains from local cemeteries.
This horrific incident directly inspired several serial killer characters on screen, including Norman Bates in Psycho and Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
