Netflix will end its basic ad-free plan in Brazil. The confirmed change in the company’s financial results release for the third quarter of 2024 could occur later this year.
The service reported that it has already suspended the same plan in markets such as the United States and France and will do “the same in Brazil at the end of the fourth quarter.”
Why will Netflix eliminate the ad-free basic plan in Brazil?
What changes for Brazilian season ticket holders
When the change takes effect, subscribers will have the following plan options in Brazil: “Standard with ads”, for R $ 20.90 per month, “Standard without ads” (R $ 44.90) and “Premium without ads” (R $59.90).
It’s important to remember that new subscribers no longer had the option to opt for the Basic plan since last year. Now the measure also concerns old customers who still had the active plan.
